Rain before seven, fine by eleven

With a pop-up art shop at Skylark Cafe Terrace on Wandsworth Common in London and a plein air painting competition in the Cotswolds during the month of June, how lucky that the heavy downpours throughout the month gave way to sunshine and blue skies on these days? As I set up my gazebo on the morning of the pop with temperatures climbing to 27 degrees (Celsius that is!), I slapped on some sunscreen, and enjoyed every moment of sharing my work with my local community and chatting with dozens and dozens of visitors throughout the day.

The following weekend, I had the pleasure to join 50 other artists in the Great British Paint Off of 2021 as part of the Broadway Arts Festival. The Cotswolds village of Broadway provided such inspired landscapes and the local residents and visitors couldn’t have been more friendly throughout the art festival. Whilst numbers of international visitors were curtailed due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, the full schedule of events were still bustling with eager participants and the streets were bustling with visitors. An event I definitely recommend for artists, art collectors, and anyone looking for a great day out in the Cotswolds
